Tunnel Construction and Management
Our DTS Cooling Units meet an IP65 rating to handle extreme alternating pressure loads but also extreme temperature differences and constant exposure to dust and moisture.
Electronic Road Management
DTS Cooling Units keep the roadside equipment from overheating, and heaters, thermostats and hygrostats are added to prevent condensation.
TUNNEL MANAGEMENT
Some of the world’s most known tunnels utilize Pfannenberg’s signaling solutions and cooling units to ensure traveler, worker and equipment safety. A modified version of our DTS Cooling Units provide specialized thermal management of electronics in the St. Gotthard Tunnel. And our flashing sounders are used to warn workers before and during vehicle movements for tunnel or roadways maintenance. With a broad spectrum of frequencies they provide excellent penetration of acoustic barriers such as walls and doors and are reliable in tough outdoor environments.
ELECTRONIC ROAD MANAGEMENT
Virginia has the third-largest state-maintained highway system in the country, and depends heavily on electronic road management to monitor, track, and bill drivers for toll road use. The overhead displays, tracking machines and computers that implement EZ Pass system for example, rely on Pfannenberg DTS Cooling Units to keep the roadside machines cool and operating in any weather. Heaters, thermostats and hygrostats are added to keep the relative humidity above the dew point to prevent condensation on electrical components and the corrosion of unprotected sheet metal.
