Outdoor Series 3R Filterfans®

Outdoor Weather Ready

For over 60 years Pfannenberg has been protecting electrical enclosures from heat damage and ingress of liquid and solid objects.

For indoor applications our Filterfan® protects against water and dust (NEMA 12/IP55). For extreme applications (NEMA 4/4X) the addtion of a rainhood provides weatherproof protection.

The Pfannenberg Outdoor Rated Filterfan® (NEMA 3R) is designed for outdoor weather where resistance against falling rain, snow, and UV degradation is important to ensure operation of apparatus inside enclosure.

The use of a Outdoor Rated Filterfan® also eliminates the component and labor cost, and the patented tool-free installation reduces up front investment.

Type 3R Outdoor Filterfans®

Pfannenberg Outdoor Filterfans® are certified to TYPE 3R providing electrical enclosure with protection against ingress of falling dirt, harmful effects of rain, sleet, snow and external ice formation. Further, it features UV resistance plastic to prevent premature degradation from direct sunlight. Traditional outdoor solutions would require installation of a metal hood (rainhood) over the filter fan.

Patented Tool-Less 4 Corner Fastening System

The patented fastening system allows for fast installation (possible to install in seconds) and easy removal reducing MTTR.

The fluted filter-mat provides 3x longer service life, holding more dust before impeding airflow extending the meantime between maintenance (MTBM) for outdoor enclosure; especially, critical for those locate in remote area.
